Plodding Along

Since I last gave you an update about my sewing prowess there has been some significant project progress. Finally. I've been a little bit inspired by Kris who has become the Finish it Up Queen of late.

It seems this "working on one thing at a time " actually yields results. So much so that I've been encouraged to write a list for June and have vowed to only work on two quilts for the entire month. I'm itching to get that WIP list down to something manageable. It's driving me spare looking at it.

My Lilac Hill Jelly Roll Race quilt is finished. It wasn't really so much a race as a leisurely stroll to the finish line with this one. (even if it did feel like I was doing a marathon) I had originally bought chocolate brown floral fabric for a wide border but frankly once I cut it the whole thing looked hideous.

I put the final stitches in the Colour Bar quilt last night.

And the hourglass quilt has been basted and quilting is well under way. I'm trying to talk myself out of doing diagonal stitching on this one because I'm feeling lazy.

I'm linking up to Kate's 15 minute challenge this week because I actually have something to show for a change! 10 WIPS - 2 finishes = 8 WIPS to go!

And I know my posts have been very few and far between lately. It seems I can blog or sew but apparently can't do both simultaneously.

The Colour Bar quilt is sweet! And look at you go with the 1600 quilt and the hourglass quilting in progress. Sounds like you've got a good game plan going on!

Congrats on the finishes! Love the Color Bar quilt and your Lilac Hill JRR quilt. Good luck with your June plans.

The blog or sew thing is true at this house too. I get caugt up on one and behind on the other.

Thanks for linking up this week.

I was so inspired by your jelly roll race quilt I watched a youtube video to find out exactly what it was. (Can you tell I have a jelly roll or two in the cupboard calling my name?) Great finishes, and works in progress too! (I am always soooo impressed by something basted.) This week you are the inspiration! Must get cracking!

Oh, finishes just warm the soul, don't they! It's just great to end up with a quilt when you get to stop thinking about that task list because you put the last stitch in!

Go for the sewing and blog the finishes... We will wait.

Great to have two finishes! I still love your hourglass quilt .. I need to work on mine. I'm having a little trouble finding motivation. But the 15 minute challenge helps.

I love the Color Bar Quilt best... but they are all 3 beauties! How did you make it, the CBQ? I must have missed that one in the planning stage. Do you have a tutorial somewhere?
Love your blog, and we will stay tuned to see what gets done next.
Hugs!

Big round of applause from this side of Adelaide...you go girl! There is some motivation for the rest of us now to achieve two finishes ASAP!! Just seen your followers list...no wonder you cannot blog and sew at the same time, your way too popular!

Lovely quilts but the bar quilt is my favourite. I find I can't sew and blog! It's my age!

So it appears the theory of focusing on one or two projects works wonders - it probably helps that you had done all that work on them previously.
Love the Jelly Roll quilt so simple and so perfect.
Enjoy the quilting.

I think I need to follow your lead and work on 1 project at a time. My WIP pile is awesome too....

The Colour Bar quilt is amazing! Fabulous! Scrumptions! Awesome!

Your jelly roll race quilt turned out great! Look at you with all the finishes. I need to focus as well. I've got a bad case of obsessive creative disorder right now and want to start about 12 new projects.

And that Strawberry Shortcake hourglass quilt is so pretty! I can't wait to see it done.

Great stuff going on here!
